John Lamar Mitchell was born in Springfield, Ohio to David Lamar Mitchell and Joan Elizabeth Artis on October 22, 1952. He is survived by his mother, Joan E. Mitchell; his children, Tuwesha (Kennon) Mitchell, David (April) Mitchell, and Kiana Mitchell; Grandchildren including, Shaheed, Ayinde, Khalif Mitchell, Dalajuwon, Daryl, Dakya Young and Charles Box III, Jonathan and Madison Mitchell from California. John Lamar Mitchell is survived by his siblings including, Tyrone (Robert Snyder) Artis, from California, Marjorie Burton, from Ohio, Juan "Jay" (Sonya) Mitchell from Nevada, Shalli Mitchell-Brooks from Ohio, Hiram "Tiny" (Judy) Johnson from Tennessee. He is survived by 12 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews. Preceded by his father, David Lamar Mitchell; 2 nephews, Charles "Chuckie" Hughes Jr. and Juan "Lil Jay" Mitchell; Grandparents, John and Iris Mitchell, Edith Artis Ellicott.
