John Allen "Jack" Howard passed away in Springfield Regional Medical Center on May 8, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio. He was the son of Dorothy D. (Carson) and John Howard. He attended Springfield City Schools and graduated from Springfield High School in 1961. Jack served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting after graduation.
He was the former manager of Bonded Oil Service Station and built a long steady career at Navistar International, formerly known as International Harvester Company, where he earned the respect of his colleagues through his dedication and integrity.
John was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Olivia Howard and a sister, Rose Carline Weddington. He is survived by his wife, Jessie L. Howard; daughters, Christine L. Howard and Carolyn Y. Howard of Springfield, Ohio, Michelle (Neil) Story-Stewart of Michigan, Carla Howard-Daniels of Dayton, Ohio and Kathryn (Tyaon) Grable of Springfield, Ohio; son, John P. Story of Springfield, Ohio; bonus son, Ricardo (Lindsay) Story of North Carolina; his beloved friend, Arthetta Jackson; siblings, Philip (Marylene) Howard, Shirley Diane (James) Washington of Georgia, Gloria Jeannie (Tom Jackson) Robinson of Springfield, Ohio , 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in Zion Hill Baptist Church with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
