James Steven Hayes, 65, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his home. He was born August 3, 1953 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Fairest and Janice (Brown) Hayes. James attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and retired from Ford Motor Company, Dayton, Ohio after many years of service. His memory will be cherished by his sons, Danzell Ogle and Derrick Hayes both of Dayton, Ohio: brothers, Adrian Gaines of Springfield, Ohio and Fairlond Hayes of San Diego, California; sisters, Joyce Hayes of Columbus, Ohio, Annette Gaines of San Diego, California and Bonnie French of Springfield, Ohio; a grandchild, Danzell Ogle Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, LaTisha (Gaines) Keeble and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Janice (Brown) Gaines and Fairest Hayes; husband, Johnnie Johnson; brothers, Kenneth Gaines and Fairest Hayes Jr.; sister, Mary (Hayes) Johnson, Marlisha Mozee and Tammy Elise Mozee.
