Jamal Khalim Antar, age 55, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, in Smyrna, Georgia. Jamal was born on February 19, 1971, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, to Ayisha (Karen) Duncan and Hassan Antar.

Jamal grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, and Springfield, Ohio, where he formed lifelong friendships and created cherished memories that remained a meaningful part of his life.

Jamal was a proud graduate of Central State University and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His education, brotherhood, and the relationships he built throughout his life were important parts of who he was and the legacy he leaves behind.

Jamal will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Ayisha, and stepfather, Frank; his second mother, Francine Abbot; his son, Ajani Antar; his brothers, Jibril Antar, Eddie (Danyale) Duncan, Brandon Abbott, and Sean Pashe; and his sisters, Chante Joyner, Niaya Antar, Kenya Abbott, and Nicole Abbott.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hassan Antar, and his brother, Daoud Antar.

Jamal will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy and left him with countless cherished memories.

Jamal also leaves behind many special friends who were like family, including Hernando Harge, Patt Fuller, Chris Smith, Kevin Stone, Brian Burnett, and Nicole Gee, along with many other relatives, friends, fraternity brothers, and loved ones whose lives he touched.

Though his time with us has come to an end, Jamal’s memory will continue to live on through the people who knew, loved, and cherished him. His presence, friendship, laughter, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Jamal’s life, share cherished memories, offer comfort and support to one another, and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Restored Life Ministries at 11 a.m.
