Jacquelyn (Jackie) Elese Ball-Callahan-Green entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Sunday morning, August 12, 2018 in Springfield, Ohio. Jackie was born in Springfield, Ohio on August 3, 1948, the eldest child of five children of Virginia and John W. Ball. At a young age she began her life of service to the Lord at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. William E. Richardson. Jackie a graduate of Springfield South High School, attended Miami University and was employed in the banking industry in Springfield, Ohio. After marrying in 1971, she and her former husband relocated to Eastern Ohio where they would begin raising their children Chad and Chayla. She became a very active member in the community's Welcome Wagon and the LaLeche League. She also was very creative and loved all crafts and sewing. Being devoted to family, she later returned to Springfield in 1988 to be closer to her mother and extended family. Jackie leaves to rejoice in all the many memories her two beloved children; Chad (Michele) Callahan, Centerville, Ohio, and Chayla (Shaun) Brown, Columbus, Ohio. She also leaves behind four beautiful granddaughters whom she loved dearly; Alyssa Callahan, Zoe Callahan, Kennedy Brown and Morgan Brown; four siblings Brenda (Richard) Nixon, Karla Ball, Karen Ball and John (Joan) Ball; one niece, one great niece, three nephews, and two great nephews; three very special aunts: Lucille Turner, Marjorie Ball, Betty Ball, and a host of cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and John W. Ball. Family and friends will be received on Saturday August 25th, 2018 from 11:00-12:00 pm at Mt Zion Baptist Church, 1171 S. Yellow Spring St., Springfield, Ohio 45506, Rev. Dr. Olie V. Burton, Pastor. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at the church.
