Henry Lee Tillman, 85, of Springfield, Ohio, transitioned peacefully at Oakwood Nursing Home on August 7, 2025. He was born on February 17, 1940, to the late Levi and Eloise (Townsend) Tillman. He leaves not only a host of Cousins who are extended from Tillman's, Vance's, Moore's, and Stinnett's main branches of the family tree, but also dear friends and the Springfield United Senior Services community, to cherish those memorable, unique moments we experienced with him.

Henry graduated from Springfield High School and served in the army from 1957 to 1960. Later, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central State University and completed his teaching career in the Detroit Public School System.

His favorite pastimes included short casino trips, gardening, lunch at United Senior Services, learning a specific card game, making unannounced home visits, discussing politics only to provoke a negative response, and talking about his life experiences, especially growing up around all the crazy uncles. You learned to love Henry with a smile and a frown.

Now, he is resting. There's another chapter of memories added to the living. There is peace, joy, and laughter in heaven. He joined the most important people in his life, his parents; his sister, Grace Lucile Tillman, and a very special first cousin who was like a brother, Larry Tillman Jr.

Visitation is Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.  Graveside service will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with military honors.
