Greer L. Young Sr., 73, of Huber Hts., Ohio passed away Monday, October 5, 2020.  He was born July 7, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Haywood and Lillian (Longshaw) Young. Greer graduated from Springfield South High School and served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.  He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an Associate Minister and was on the Deacon Board, Fellowship Ministry, Small Group and Church Softball League.  Greer loved fishing, hunting, roller skating, softball and bowling.  He belonged to the Mix Masters Bowling League.

Greer retired as a supervisor from Navistar International after 30 years of service and from Springfield City Schools as a Project Director after 15 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Velma (Jones) Young of Huber Hts., Ohio; daughters, Dominique (Ben) Beverly of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Donella (Wayne) May of Springfield, Ohio; son, Greer L. (Kieshenda) Young Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, B.J. Beverly, Drew Beverly and Devin Beverly all of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Destini Robinson, Chelsi Robinson and Kennadi Robinson all of Springfield, Ohio and Jordan Young, Arrionna Young and Aleecia Young all of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Linda Young of Virginia and Batista Young of Springfield, Ohio; aunt, Lois Young of Indianapolis, Indiana; goddaughter, Tiara Tolliver; godson, A.J. Tolliver and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
