Freda Baker Lytle
April 20, 1936-January 12, 2017
Freda Lytle, a longtime resident of Fairborn, was born in Waverly, Ohio, on April 20, 1936, and after a brave health battle, called to eternal reward on Jan. 12, 2017 after a hospitalization in Bethesda, Md.
As a longtime analyst at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Freda received special commendations and was known for her high professional standards and exemplary performance as an analyst. A lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for education, Freda displayed exceptional intelligence and wit. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Wittenberg University, and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan College.
She deeply loved her family and shared many memories with two sisters: her dear twin, Dr. Reva Hutchins of Columbus, Ohio, and her beloved younger sister, Patricia Bair of Los Angeles. Her loving mother, Elsie Hastings, and her brothers, Robert Baker and Ronnie Baker, preceded her in death.
Freda was married for 20 years to James J. Lytle Jr., and left to cherish her memory their three children: Rosalyn (James) Bacon, Robert (Jenell) Lytle, and Robin (Edward) Turner of Derwood, Md.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In recent years, Freda enjoyed the special blessing of friendship and compassionate care in the person of her exemplary nurse and friend, Gwendolyn Williams of Bethesda, Md. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 34 West Pleasant St. Donations can be made to the SJMBC Youth Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers at the church address.
