Selfless, caring, strong, sacrificial, resilient and funny- these are just a few of the words that describe Florence Dozier.
Florence was born in Springfield, Ohio on January 21, 1938 and from the day of her birth she was in perpetual motion. She dedicated her life to the care, support and advocacy of others. Beginning with the support and care she provided her sibligs-Jerry Fisher, Alice (Fisher) Robinson and Stella (Fisher) Campbell, who preceded her in death, plus her baby brother, John Fisher. It continued with a loving relationship with Donald Dozier, her husband of 55 years and their three children- Pamela (Dozier) Dykes, Eric (Kristy) Dozier and Charles (Sheri) Dozier.
Florence was a faithful servant at St. John Missionary Baptist Church providing leadership and support to the culinary ministry ensuring food was always on point for funeral dinners, VBS and Wednesday Walk-in services. Perhaps her greatest work and service was the care and support she provided to elderly parents, Lester and Zena Mae Dozier plus countless other family and friends in the Springfield area. Simply put, when Florence was in your corner, you had a tireless champion who would support and advocate for your care. Her parents, Charles Fisher and Harriet (Saunders) Fisher Jones preceded her in death.
Florence was a proud nana to Joshua, Braelen, Jonathan, Brysen, Belicia, Camryn and Quincy. She will be remembered as the snack queen, always having your favorite treat at the ready.
Florence put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. On Thursday, May 3, 2018, the Lord called her to her Heavenly Home. Her husband, Donald and family are looking forward to a Heavenly reunion.
