Evelyn Irene Davis ascended into heaven Thursday, March 31st to join her husband, Ernest Davis. With a Bachelors from Savannah State and Masters from Columbia University, Irene devoted her life to education. As the former principal of Fulton Elementary, she was a proud and giving member of the Springfield community. A great wife, mother, grandmother and friend, to know her was to love her. On Sunday, April 3, 2016 her ashes were released to join her beloved Ernie in a private farewell. She is survived by her two daughters, granddaughter, son-in law, best friend and countless God children. The family requests that instead of flowers, a small donation to St. Jude's be made in her honor. Loving care was provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
