Essie Murphy, 84, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Monday, January 20, 2025.  She was born September 20, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Paul and Sweetie (Daniels) Cromer.

Essie had been employed by Antioch Bookplate and retired after many years of dedicated service.  She was a member of Ladies United and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Steven Murphy of Springfield, Ohio and George (Nancy) Brown of Fairborn, Ohio, three grandchildren; Monique McCrystal, Billy Earley and Keith Earley; sisters,  Bernice "Bunny" Stream, Joy Portman and Rosemary Williams all of Springfield, Ohio; special niece, Angela (Craig) Peterson and niece, Barbara Brown and special friend, Sandra "Sandy" Wynn and a  host of other relatives and friends.  Essie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, William "Bill" Murphy; daughter, Mary Carter; two sisters, Anna Ruth Austin and Pauline Crowley and a brother, Richard Cromer.

Visitation is Monday, January 27, 2025 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
