Ellis "El Pannell, Uncle Rook" Stanford Jr. passed away peacefully Friday, June 26, 2020.  He was born May 13, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Ellis H. and Marilyn (Adkins) Stanford Sr.  He was a team leader at the Fellowship Club for many years and his love for music was undeniable.  He could listen to music for hours on end. The only thing that could rival his love for music was the love of his life, his wife!  No one said "my wife" with more adoration than he.  He was a caring and devoted husband.  He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mattie (Lasley) Stanford; sister, Mary Jo Trollinger of North Charleston, North Carolina; brother, Wade Stanford of Providence, Rhode Island and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Diane Harris.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 6 p.m. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
