Elizabeth Lee Gaines, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, at the age of 79 at Bethany Village. She was born on October 26,1944, in Lawrence, Kansas. She retired from IH Credit Union after 30 years of service. Liz raised two daughters, Yvonne Turner of Dayton, Ohio and Monica Lawrence of Indianapolis, Indiana, who inherited their mother's kindness and generosity. Liz was a devoted grandmother to three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Alex Turner (Rowen, Audrielle, Avery, and JaMarcus), Marissa Lawrence, and Alexis Turner, who brought joy and laughter to her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Liz was a woman of faith, grace, and wisdom, who touched many lives with her warmth and humor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Fred Turner Sr., brother Fred Turner Jr. and her beloved husband of 19 years, Willie Gaines.

A viewing will be held on June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, followed by services at 12:00 p.m.
