Obituary

Dorothy Nunn, of Springfield, Ohio and formerly of New York passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio. She was born October 14, 1924 in Norfolk, Virginia the daughter of Ella Stokes. She attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and continued her education at Little State College in Norfolk, Virginia. Dorothy married William D. Nunn, a Naval Sergeant in Norflok, Virginia and they migrated to various states and started their lovely family. Dorothy was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for many years before retiring at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was a member of Family Baptist Church in the Bronx and was lovingly referred to as Mother Nunn. Not only was Dorothy Nunn loved by her family, but was cherished as "Mama D" in Springfield, Ohio and as "Mother Nunn" in Bronx, New York on E. 180th Street where she lived for 35 years. Her memory will be cherished by her loving and devoted daughters, Sharon Nunn, Kim (Robert White) Nunn, Nadine Nunn, Janice (Andrea) Nunn, Janet Nunn and Carol (Eyvonne) Nunn; a loving and devoted son, Ronald (Amy)Green; grandchildren, William Jr., Gloria and Akil and their father, Robert, Ron, Alexandra, Denise, Dorothea, Elahisha and their father, Eli, Charles, Victoria, Marlon, Edison and his father, Earl, Malik, Ronald, Ronetta, Laurdel, Jason and Ny'Zieere; great grandchildren, Rashawn, Kenny, Ema'Nie, Madison, Aaliyah, Antonio, Kelsey, Salonia, Kamoria, Joel, Ella, William III, Musa, Huran, Zyaid, Charles Jr., Aubrey and London; sister-in-law, Rev. Irma Pacheco, cousin Barbara Bailey and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William Nunn; son, Leroy Wagner and her grandsons, Robert "Bobby" and Willard.
