Dorothy "Wells" Moore was born June 5, 1925 in Cartersville, Georgia to Emma Carson Jones and George Jones. On October 30, 2020 the Lord called one of his most beautiful flowers home to bloom in his eternal garden.  As a young woman, she spent some time in Springfield and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  In 1967, she returned to Ohio and encouraged her daughter and grandchildren to be baptized at the church as well.

Dorothy retired from Community Hospital after 20 years of service.  Her legacy of survivors are her 3 daughters: Brenda Carter (John Carter) of Buford, Georgia; Leatrece Terhune (Marc Clark) of Springfield, Ohio; and Alisa Harris of Roswell, Georgia.  She has 6 grandchildren: April, Alana, Brittany, James "JT", Imari, and Tyrique; and 2 very special great grand-daughters: Sierra and Tylia.  Dorothy always wanted sons but had all girls. She now has 8 beautiful great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy had a passion for quilting and made specialty quilts for her children and grandchildren.  She had a big heart and was gracious in her dealings with young people down on their luck.  She would give them tasks to do and pay them saying "everyone needs a hand now and then".  Dorothy taught her family how to love and how to treat others with respect.  She was a "one of a kind", a hands-on mother and grandmother, and the rose of our family.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, James "Arnie" Moore; a daughter, Sali "Wells" Antar; 2 brothers: David Jones and Louis Jones of Springfield; and one sister, Leatha Jones of Cartersville, Georgia.

Memories of her love and faithful devotion to her family will forever be a guiding light.
