Dorothy M. Ishman,78, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on November 2, 2015. She was born January 27, 1937 in Eufaula, Alabama the daughter of the late Merrill and Lillie (Stanford) Crossley Sr. She was united in marriage to James Ishman Sr. and to this union 5 children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed cooking and being with family and friends. Mrs. Ishman had a special patience as a "Babysitter" and known to everyone (parents and all) as "Aunt Dot". Dorothy was a very quiet, yet observant and knowledgeable person. She was a member of Church of God Sanctified, Dayton, Ohio. She loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed by all of those who loved and knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Barbara Ishman; sons, James Jr., Timothy, Gary (Christie) and Damon Ishman all of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, John Crossley and Robert Crossley; sister, Lucy Simms of Kansas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Crossley; 5 grandchildren, Katorya Hill, Amari and Darnell Ishman, Nick Hines and Lena Hayden; special grandson, Z'ymir Ragland; special nephew, Gerald Crossley; three great grandchildren, Se'Quan Gibson, Kennedy and Malik Hill and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Ishman Sr.; 4 brothers, Ellis, Jones, Arthur Crossley Sr., Joseph Crossley and Merrill Crossley Jr. and a sister, Jerline Crossley. Visitation is Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Pleasant St. entrance. Burial is Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Dayton National Cemetery.
