Dorothy Gene Bentley, 70, of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord August 12, 2022.  Dorothy was born January 3,1952 in Monroe, Louisiana the daughter of Major Fredrick E. Bentley Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Harris.) Bentley.  She graduated from Poly High School in Riverside, California.

Dorothy was employed and retired from The Assurant Group.  She was a devoted member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's  Ensemble, Praise Team and the Fellowship and Mass Choirs. She attended Bible Study and Church School.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, Ericka Bentley Jones of Springfield, Ohio, and Tyson (Chanille) Bentley of Huber Heights, Ohio; devoted grandchildren, Rashaad Bentley, Eukeesha Bentley and Emanuel A. Jones Jr. of Springfield, Ohio, Kaleena Bentley, Tyjeanne Bentley, Malachi Bentley, Jazaya Bentley, Armani Taylor and Jasiyous Taylor of Huber Heights, Ohio; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Evelyn Newell of Riverside, California, and Linda (James) Smith of Springfield, Ohio; devoted son-in-law, Emanuel A. Jones Sr.; close friend, Mary Henderson and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Fredrick E. Bentley Jr.  and Robert A. Bentley Sr.; grandparents; brother-in-law, James Newell and close friend, Dorothy Higgenbotham.
