Doris Irene Applin went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born to the late Wallace Applin and Mattie Belle Threats in Wise, Virginia. Doris resided in Springfield, Ohio, where she raised four wonderful children Michael, Lanette, Derek and Wayne.

Doris enjoyed going to the horse races in her younger days. She enjoyed being with family and friends when she wasn't hard at work. She retired from Community Hospital here in Springfield, Ohio as a dietary aide. Doris will be remembered for all of her love and wisdom with her courageous attitude.

She leaves behind her four children, all of Springfield Ohio, Michael Applin, LaNett Applin, Derek Applin and Wayne (Justalin) Stinnett; brothers, Ronnie (Connie) Applin, Larry (Kristina) Applin and Jerry Applin; sisters, Vivian (Richard) Tyler and Maryann Applin; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Doris is preceded in death by both of her parents and grandchild, Travis M. Feaster.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 1-1:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.  Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Burial Park.
