Obituary

Dolores S. Berrien, 95, of Dublin, Ohio and formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026. She was born March 11, 1931, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Mae (Wilson) Smith.

A graduate of Springfield High School, she went on to attend the Howard University School of Nursing. Mrs. Berrien retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Data Manager after 34 plus years of dedicated service. However, she continued to work there as a consultant and at other businesses as well.

Her many ministries included The Willing Workers, Food Pantry, as well as Bible Study. Sister Berrien enjoyed membership in many clubs and organizations including Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Nu Chapter, The Retirement Set, Jack and Jill, Inc., Sisters United for Cancer Prevention, American Business Women’s Association, Travel Club, and a monthly Card Club. She enjoyed decorating, crafting, cooking, shopping, traveling, and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Eric V. Berrien of California and Todd V. Berrien of Dublin, Ohio and grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Natella Tyler, Kenna “Penny” Davis both of Springfield, Ohio, Ellen Stewart of Cincinnati, Ohio and brother, David E. Hickman of Dayton, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Patty Young, Virginia McCarty, Phyllis Berry and Dorothy Freeman.  Mrs. Berrien was preceded death by her parents and her son, Trent Berrien.

Visitation is Monday, April 20, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Dolores S. Berrien will be laid to rest in Ferncliff Cemetery.
