Destini De'laine Jones-Newman, daughter of Erica and Shawn Jones, was born as a blessing on June 5, 2000, in Springfield, Ohio. Destini lived an extraordinary, but much too short life as a doting daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, granddaughter, great granddaughter, wife and a best friend to many.

She passed away, amongst family, on Saturday, August 19th, 2023. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Elaine Weathers, and godmother, Raquel Fowler. Destini is survived by her great grandmother; Violet Weathers; grandmother, Delores Jones; her parents, Shawn and Erica Jones; husband, Bryan Newman; siblings KaDae, Dejah, Dominique, and Harper Jones; god siblings, Damon and AJ Benton, India, Tyson, and LaShanna DeArmond; her nieces, Nyra, Aariah, and Aniyah;  uncles, Michael (Trisha) Weathers and Brandon (Nicole) Weathers; her aunts, Shannon Weathers and Denice Skabla-Weathers; a  host of  cousins, Shaniah (Vincent), Jasmine (Reed), Myca (Levi) and Natasia (Christian), Brandon, Kylie (Tosha), Teersa, Braydon, and Zavian Weathers, and her close friends, Jackie Riley, Joshua Snead, and Ciera Nokes. She will be remembered for her brilliance, personality, and endearing love to many. Destini loved shopping and being spoiled by her parents, brothers, and her husband. Often, she could be found FaceTiming her cousins, listening to music, or crafting her art. And most of all, she loved every second spent with husband. Words are not enough to      explain her light or the lives she touched. May we treasure the time spent with her and live boldly in her legacy. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday August 26, 2023, at 3 p.m. at the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home 527 S. Center Street Springfield, Ohio 45506, Destini's favorite flowers were sunflowers and roses.
