Daniel Harmon, Jr. of Springfield died January 11, 2017 after a brief illness. Daniel was born January 8, 1955 to Daniel Sr. and Mildred (Collier) Harmon. Daniel was an avid weightlifter, winning awards and 1st place trophies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, brother, Ronald, sister, Linda Higgins and a nephew Darren Harmon. He is survived by a son, Christopher Hughes of Riverside, brothers Vincent (Rick) of Springfield, and David of Atlanta, Ga., sisters Angela Owens and Pearla (Joseph) Parks, both of Springfield, 9 grandchildren, Kyren, Kishon, Kaidon, Kasin, Kalijah, Karma, Xhadrien and stepdaughter, Jailee; aunts and uncle and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
