Carolyn Mebane, 77, of Springfield, Ohio passed away October 15, 2019.  Carolyn, a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Family Worship Center, was born January 10, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of George and Clarabelle (Baylum) January and was raised from the early teens by her spiritual family, Helen and Erselle January along with their four daughters, Delores Douglas, Midge Higgenbotham, Doma Franklin and Betty Morris,

She was united in marriage to Sanford D. Mebane on November 19. 1960.  To this union was born three children, Mischel, Sanford Jr. and Terri, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Carolyn was baptized at the Church of Jesus in 1957 and received the Holy Ghost on December 26, 1976.  She was a member of the Senior Choir for five years and was choir secretary for a year.  She was also the Women's Day treasurer until her failing health wouldn't allow her to do so.  She was Woman of Year in 1987.

She retired from International Harvester after 22 years of service.  She enjoyed shoppig, dining out and traveling with her family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clarabelle (Baylum) January; one brother, Richard January; granddaughter, Candice Mebane and son-in-law, Richard Depp.  Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Sanford Mebane Sr.; three children, daughter, Mischel Depp of Springfield, Ohio; son, Sanford Mebane Jr. of Trotwood, Ohio and daughter, Terri Mebane of Vandalia, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ceara Mebane, Chaz Huffman and Cameron McElroy; two great grandchildren, Taleaha and Tayjuan Wright; special godchild, Imani Oliver-McPheters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special riends, Phyllis Wood and Rose Ann Pratt.
