Carol Annette Kearney-Wooten, passed away October 8, 2024.  She was born November 16, 1951, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Sarah (Bradshaw) and Griffith Kearney.

Carol was educated in the Springfield City School System.  She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Hayward Jr. High School and graduated from Springfield South High School.

Her various job experiences included mixologist and ending her career with Kroger, Inc. of Springfield, Ohio where she was revered and loved.  She worshiped at St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Carol was a very refined private person. She loved life and the friends and family she encountered.

She was a socialite, before you could get the word out Let's she would complete your sentence with Go. Carol was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Remember her for the way she lived and the profound impact her life had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.  She would want you to not mourn her passing, but to cherish her memories.

Carol is survived by her sister, Gloria Kearney-Crumwell of Cincinnati, Ohio (82); brother, Richard Reynolds Sr., of Springfield, Ohio (77); son, George Michael Wooten; daughter, Marissa Wooten; nephews, Richard Reynolds Jr., Derrick Parson and John Arnold; nieces, Mary Ann Harrington, Marilyn Arnold and Shelley Arnold, and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Erica and Myra.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Griffith Kearney; grandmother, Lucy Benton and husband, George Wooten.

A Celebration of Life service is Saturday, November 16, 2024 (Carol's birthday) at Ben's Tavern, 436 Sheridan Avenue Springfield, Ohio 45505 from 12-6 p.m.
