Barbara A. Sims, 80, of Springfield, Ohio

passed away, surrounded by her loving daughters, on June 23, 2024.  Born on May 4, 1944, Barbara was the social butterfly who brought joy, laughter, and a spirit of togetherness to all who were in her presence.

Barbara was the oldest of two daughters to S. Louise (Borden) Higgins and Nathan Higgins, and the only child to David Owens.  Barbara graduated from South High School in 1962, and retired from Mercy Hospital with 30 years of service.  She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Larry C. Sims, whereby at the time of his passing they were married 55 years; Grandson, Tyler Fullen; and In-laws, Gary and Cecelia Sims of Columbus, OH; Annette Ferguson Johnson of San Antonio, Texas.  She leaves behind their three daughters, Tracy (James) Shelton of San Antonio, TX, Kay (James) Prater and Shayla Sims of Springfield, OH; 11 grandchildren, Robert Soles, Jr., Jaymell Prater, Chanell Prater, Tamon Prater, Kayla Brandon, Andre Brandon, Trason Sims, and bonus grandchildren Tomecka Shelton of North Carolina, and Anthony Pearson, Indiana; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Denise Thomas of Springfield, OH; sister-in-law, Gail (William) Gaston of Atlanta, GA.

We shall miss her presence and we will always cherish her memory and the marks that she leaves permanently etched upon our hearts. She was and will always be loved.
