Anthony Lamont Hansbro, affectionately known as “Sweet Hans,” was born in Springfield, Ohio, on May 5, 1967, to Lawrence and Catherine Hansbro. On May 11, 2026, he transitioned peacefully at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Lamont lived a life full of energy, humor, and heart. He was known for his infectious laughter, quick wit, and ability to bring joy into any room he entered. A natural athlete, Lamont had a deep love for football from an early age. He played with the Little Tigers as a child and continued his athletic journey at Hayward Junior High and Springfield South High School. There, he also excelled in wrestling and track and field. As a freshman at South High School, Lamont, alongside teammates Harry Daniels and Ricky Ragland, won the County High School Weightlifting Championship—an accomplishment he always carried with pride. Lamont valued education and was always eager to learn. He attended several colleges throughout his journey and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Highland Community College in Kansas on May 5, 1988. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University on May 6, 2017. Most recently, he continued his commitment to learning through online studies at the University of Phoenix. Beyond academics and athletics, Lamont was truly unforgettable. He had a natural gift for humor and could make anyone laugh until it hurt!! His joyful spirit, playful personality, and love for dancing made him a bright light in the lives of those around him.
Lamont is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lawrence and Catherine Hansbro. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Zhylon Seals; four brothers, Bishop James G. (Frances) Belle, Gary Hansbro, Lawrence Hansbro, and Dwayne Hansbro; one sister, Elder Kimberly Hall; his loving girlfriend, Gina Westmoreland; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close. “Sweet Hans” will be remembered for his laughter, his love of life, his strength, and the joy he brought to everyone blessed to know him. Though he has transitioned, his spirit continues to live on in every heart he touched
