Annette L. Sims Ferguson-Johnson was born to the late Marion Sims and Jeannette "Cookie" Sims-Allen on October 6, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio. She was carried into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital with her family by her side at the age of seventy-two. Annette grew up in Springfield and graduated from North High School in 1961. In 1961 she married her high school sweetheart, Lewis W. Ferguson. They were married for eighteen years. Out of this union she became a loving and nurturing mother towards their two children, Michael and Cathy. During those years, Annette traveled as a military spouse across the United States, and across the world. In 1971 she graduated with her Associates Degree from the University of New Hampshire. Annette began her career as a bank teller for San Antonio Savings Association. She also held many significant positions under the Bank of America (BOA) organization. She retired in 1999 after 25 years as a Branch Manager, for BOA. Following retirement, she went back into the work force in 2001, employed for Citi Corp., where she received numerous awards. Annette was very active in the San Antonio business community and was a friend to all. During her employment at Citi Corp, she met the love of her life, Herbert Johnson. After a two year special courtship, they were joined in holy matrimony on October 9, 2010. She remained at Citi Corp until her illness no longer allowed her to work If you knew Annette, you knew she was an avid dog lover. She was an amazing caregiver to her three fur babies, Prissy, Katie, Scrappy and later Sadie. If you were in ear shot of her conversation, you would think she was talking about real person. She would say, "The puppies keep me company." Annette leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Herbert Johnson of San Antonio, TX, son Michael C. (Norma) Ferguson of San Antonio, TX, daughter Cathy D. (Melvin) Jordan of Lawrenceville, GA. Brothers Larry Sims (Barbara) of Springfield, OH, Gary (Cecelia)Sims of Columbus OH, and sister Gail (William) Gaskins of Grayson, GA. Six grandchildren, Gregory (Shayna) Tolson, II, of Magnolia, DE, Brandon (K'Yara) Tolson, of New Port News, VA, Brittney (Giovanni) Aramendiz, of Miami, FL, Melvin (Nicole) Jordan, III, of Detroit, MI, Daniel (Zenzali) Ferguson of San Antonio, TX and Stephen Ferguson of San Antonio, TX. Two Great-Grand Children Khamari Jordan of Detroit, MI, and Dominic Aramendiz of Miami, FL. She also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends behind to honor her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents Marion C. Sims, and Jeannette "Cookie" Sims-Allen.
