Anna Mae (Smith) Compton, 63. of Springfield, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Day Springs Rehabilitation Home in Enon, Ohio. She was born April 8, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Charles Smith and Anna Louise Godfry. Anna was reared by her aunt, Evangelist Sarah Bankston. Anna was a graduate of Springfield South High School Class of 1972. She worked as a beautician for many years and graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Houston, Texas where she resided for 11 years. Anna was a member of Maranatha Christian Fellowship in Dayton, Ohio where she served as a minister. She enjoyed missionary trips to Africa and visited over 21 towns. Anna leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Elder Charles Edward Compton; brother, Charles Hope Smith of Seattle, Washington; sisters, Saralee (Michael) Woods of Columbus, Ohio and Kathy L. Smith of Houston, Texas; brothers-in-law, James and Marvin Compton of Springfield, Ohio, Philip Compton of Tennessee and Roscoe Kidd of Springfield, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Roxann (Milton) Gaines of Springfield, Ohio, Susan Kidd of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Lorna Kidd of Charlotte, North Carolina; uncle and aunt, Suff. Bishop Marvin and Ida Graves of Xenia, Ohio; special cousins, Barbara Jean Clemmons and Gloria Mason of Knoxville, Tennessee and very special friends, Robin Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Mary Ann Woodson of Columbus, Ohio and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
