William Davenport Obituary

William Marlo Davenport, 57, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Springfield , Ohio passed away Monday, January 5, 2015. He was born February 3, 1957 in Springfield a son of Felton and Mary (Tramel) Davenport. William served his country in the U.S. Army for four years, spending 2 years in Germany. He worked with troubled youth for over 17 years at Buckeye Ranch, Clark County Juvenile Detention Center, Osterlen of Springfield and working with Foster Children. He also worked private security for many years. He enjoyed fishing, playing music and most of all making people laugh. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Valerie Denise (Watkins) Davenport; his daughters, Marlo KaShawn Johnson (Mark), Adrienne Davenport and Kelli Ware (Devon); a son, William Darnell Davenport (LaKeisha); grandchildren, William Darnell Davenport, Jr., KeShaun Davenport and TyLisha Davenport, all of Columbus; his mother, Mary (Tramel) Davenport; sisters, Helen Davenport and Terri Dixon (Billy); a brother, Felton Davenport, Jr.; mother of his children, Shirley Wells; father-in-law, Donald Watkins; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and George Welliford, Karen and Ernest Shirley and Trent Watkins; special cousin, Gloria Davenport and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Felton Davenport; a daughter, Jessica Davenport; a sister, Annie Gaines and a brother, Dwight Davenport.
