Mr. Richard Smith Obituary
Richard Lamar "Dickie" Smith, 75, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on September 20, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Richard Ervin and Ella Louise Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged.
He specialized in Electronic Technology and engineering. He worked over 45 years in Television repair and retired due to health reasons.
Richard was a loving son, brother and friend. He was well known for his love of Cadillacs and culinary arts.
He is survived by three brothers, John W. Smith, James S. Ervin both of Springfield, Ohio and Robert E. Muhammad of O'Fallon, Illinois; 4 sisters, Teresa R. Ervin, Lisa D. Ervin and Alicia M. Ervin of Springfield Ohio and Patrice Y. Ervin of Atlanta, Georgia; a special aunt, Barbara J. Buffington a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roland Smith and a nephew.
Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force military honor guard.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Dialysis Center and Essex Springfield for their compassionate and loving care.
