Janet Marie Berrien – Trumbo
Sunrise February 21, 1927 - Sunset January 9, 2020
Daughter of Hughey Hardin & Viola (Burns) Hardin. Janet spent her early childhood years here in Springfield. Janet attended Wiley Methodist Church where she was an active Sunday school member, singing in the Angel Choir that her mother conducted. Janet attended an all girls’ private school in North Carolina until graduation. After returning to Springfield Janet continued her love for singing and playing the organ. Janet had a gift to play both piano and organ without reading music. Janet most affectionately known as Grandma or Grandma B for her black mole she always had on the left side of her face just above her lip. Janet enjoyed crocheting countless throws for her entire family.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, previous husbands, Elwood Berrien, Harry L. Lewis; Late husband, James R. Trumbo; son, Harry Lee Lewis III; two grandsons, William Blaine Lewis & Brian V. Berrien Jr.
Janet leaves the following children to cherish her memory, Vickie (Palmer) Williams, Springfield, Rita (Eric) Jones, Springfield, Keith A. Berrien, Springfield, Bayless Lamar Berrien, Clarksville Tennessee, Paula Gaines, Houston TX., Brian & (Monica) Berrien, Springfield and Gary & (Cindy) Berrien, Springfield. Eldest granddaughter, Jada (Moses) Lewis – Olanrewaju, 25 plus grandchildren, 35 plus great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Life-long friend, Jean Spurling & close friend, Twana Burton.
Visitation is Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Restored Life Ministries. Burial will be Friday, January 17, 2020 at 1 p.m. in Ferncliff Cemetery.
