Mrs. Dorothy Henry, age 86, passed away on Saturday morning, April 27, 2019 peacefully in her home of 50 years surrounded by her family. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 26, 1932, the daughter of Magnolia (Hunter) and John T. Mosely. She retired from Wright Patterson AFB but never retired from serving. Dorothy served Mount Zion Baptist as a Deaconess and so many other roles through her lifetime in church as she loved helping others. Dorothy took great pride in her home and received many Springfield Beautification Awards year after year. She loved travelling to Mobile, Alabama to be with family. Dorothy loved shopping, whether for herself or family and friends as she was known for her generosity. Her huge selection of hats received many compliments she routinely shared them. More than anything, she loved people. Any person that walked into her life became her family. With her forgiving heart, you remained a part of her forever. She often said that “without family, you have nothing,” and she had an extended, devoted family. Her survivors include her daughters, Carla Peterson and Genelle Montgomery & spouse Ricky; her grandchildren, Ericka Wilson & spouse Mark, Micah Peterson, Carlyne Peterson-Orr & spouse Marlon, and Alicia Montgomery; her great-grandchildren, Mark Wilson, Elijah Wilson, and Zane Thompson and nieces, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
