Daniel Beard

Daniel Beard, 90, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Friday, July 19, 2019.  He was born November 17, 1928 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Leroy and Pearl (McKenzie) Beard.  He attended Springfield High School and after high school he enlisted into the United States Navy.  After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Daniel met and then married Norma Cleo Coulter on February 14, 1948 in Newport, Kentucky.  To this union six children were born; Robert, Daniel, George, Keith, Patricia and Charles.  Daniel was a hard worker.  He was a loving father and good provider.  He had been employed at International Harvester and retired after 35 years and 8 months of dedicated service. He was proud of his retirement and lived 35 plus years after his retirement.

Danile gave his life to God in 1999 and attended the Church of God in Springfield, Ohio.  He was very pointed in his testimony about the way he used to be before God.  He would tell the saints"i thought I was cute" using hand motions, popping his collar and walking with a lean.  All the while, thanking God for changing his life.  Daniel will be greatly missed,  

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Nathaniel who died in childbirth; his siblings, Gertrude, Patricia and Jimmy.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 71 years, Norma; his children, Robert of Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel (Karen) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, George (Joan) of Middletown, Ohio, Patricia of Springfield, Ohio and Charles (Stacie) of Newport News, Virginia, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, daughter-in-law, Deborah, two nephews, cousins extended family members and many friends. 

His visitation is Friday, July 26, 2019 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon in the Grand Avenue Church of God.  Burial will be Monday, July 29, 2019 in Ferncliff Cemetery with Navy military honors.
